Be My Valentine

Happy Valentines Day! Hopefully this isn’t your first, last minute reminder (if it is, you’re welcome). I’m not one to go over the top on a holiday like Valentine’s Day, (how long until my birthday again?) but we do like to celebrate and do something special together. There have been years that we have gone out to dinner together and years that we have stayed home and cooked, other years we have picnicked in the living room, eating Panda Express or a boxed pizza to celebrate (heart shaped, of course) . Every year is different, but that’s what keeps it interesting.  This year, to switch it up yet again, we are going to meet friends for a Valentine’s Day brunch. Since this will be a morning event, I wanted to keep my outfit simple and effortless. I went for a gray dress (turned skirt) and a neon pink sweater. I love the gray and pink combo (the crewneck reminds me of sweetheart candies with the fun neon hue).  This outfit has an effortless quality to it, while still feeling pretty and feminine with the flowiness of the skirt. To finish off the outfit, I paired it with nude lace up flats and second day hair that is messy, but sweet. What did you all do to celebrate Valentine’s? Do you prefer to get all dolled up for a morning or evening date?
