Flares & Blues

Do you have a favorite trend from fashion past that you just wish would make a comeback? For me, that trend was flared jeans. When I started seeing my beloved flares popping up in a few different stores, (after 10 years of patiently waiting) I can’t tell you how excited I was. I mean, with a name like “flares” how could you not be? They’re cute, flirty and look good on just about everyone. I also love how versatile they are. You can dress them up or down, depending on the wash, and they’re super easy to style. For this particular look, I went with an indigo washed denim. I love how the longer hem of the pant, as well as the darker wash, really elongates the legs of anyone who wears them, especially when paired with a wedged shoe. I’ve also always loved the denim on denim look, so to get the same type of affect without the heaviness of the material, I decided to mix two different hues of blue (the jeans and the top) to get that lighter on darker affect. My favorite thing about this outfit (bedsides the flares) is how this top has all of these pretty brush strokes in various colors on it. It adds more dimension to what would otherwise be a pretty color-neutral outfit. To finish it off, I went with putty gray crossbody (with matching shoes) and some gold aviator glasses. I’m definitely hoping that some of this sunny weather will stick around because I am loving all of the bright colors and lighter layers that spring brings. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
